‘Old men gossiping in Washington’ – Malema slams Trump’s shocking oval office video stunt

Cape Town – EFF leader Julius Malema has rejected claims of a white genocide in South Africa after President Cyril Ramaphosa met with US President Donald Trump.

The meeting aimed to ease tensions over South Africa’s stance on Israel-Palestine and controversial laws like the Expropriation Act.

The meeting occurred shortly after the US granted refugee status to 49 Afrikaners citing alleged persecution.

During the meeting, Trump played videos of Malema singing “Kill the Boer” and supporting land expropriation without compensation.

Malema responded, calling the allegations baseless and reaffirming his political stance.

“A group of older men meet in Washington to gossip about me. No significant amount of intelligence evidence has been produced about white genocide.

“We will not agree to compromise our political principles on land expropriation without compensation for political expediency,” he said in a  social media post.

AfriForum CEO Kallie Kriel denied involvement in the video compilation and criticised South Africa’s courts and Ramaphosa for not condemning the chant.

“I think President Trump himself made a compilation of all these videos, which was, of course, not our compilation,” he said during an interview with eNCA.

He added: “I think now the circumstances have been created for further discussions. From AfriForum’s side, we also want solutions. That is why we were willing to say we will discuss this with the ANC.”
