Cape Town – KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi will be the first witness to testify before Parliament’s Ad Hoc Committee investigating his allegations that senior police officials are colluding with criminal syndicates.
The committee has adopted its terms of reference and will also call Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola, Deputy Commissioner Sibiya, current and former police ministers, including Senzo Mchunu (currently on special leave) and Bheki Cele, to account.
“The first person in the SAPS will be General Mkhwanazi and then there are other four which is General Masemola, who is the accounting head. The minister who was there Minister Mchunu and the deputy commissioner who was there Commissioner Sibiya. And then the current minister and his deputies,” said cchairperson of the committee Molapi Lekganyane.

Lekganyane confirmed the inquiry will hear from all relevant officials as it probes possible criminal infiltration within the police and justice system.
