According to SABC News, advocate Norman Arendse, appointed as evidence leader, noted that Mkhwanazi’s statement includes new material not previously submitted to the Madlanga Commission.
The committee will begin examining these serious claims this week.
“The statement is not the same as before the Madlanga Commission; it is a reference annexure to his statement, so to that extent incorporated. We have tried to avoid competition. There are a number of material differences, new matter, not evidence yet, that is referred to in the statements,” the report quoted Arendse as saying.
