Cape Town – Justice Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi has suspended the department’s director-general, Doc Mashabane, after notifying him on Friday that his contract had ended.
She also confirmed that the Madlanga Judicial Commission of Inquiry into corruption, political interference, and criminality in the justice system has been postponed, with no new date set.
The minister was speaking to reporters on Tuesday following the postponement of the commission.
She revealed that Mashabane had been informed on Friday that his contract would not be renewed.
