Johannesburg – Liam Jacobs, a 24-year-old Patriotic Alliance (PA) member, has been sworn in as a Johannesburg City Councillor, replacing suspended deputy leader Kenny Kunene, who resigned following a scandal.
Kunene was implicated after being found at the home of businessman Katiso “KT” Molefe, accused of orchestrating a murder.
Jacobs recently left the Democratic Alliance (DA) and Parliament to join the PA and was initially deployed to Tshwane as the party’s mayoral candidate.

Following Kunene’s scandal, Jacobs was reassigned to Johannesburg, but it’s unclear if he will take over Kunene’s former role as MMC for Transport.
Johannesburg Mayor Dada Morero made changes to his committee but did not address the transport position.
