Cape Town – The Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) has confirmed the assassination of its Deputy Chief Whip in Parliament, Khethamabala Petros “KP” Sithole, who was shot and killed in Katlehong, Gauteng, on Saturday evening.
The IFP expressed deep shock and sadness, urging law enforcement to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Sithole, 68, was a veteran leader in the party, having served in various senior roles, including Gauteng Provincial Chairperson.
“It is with shock, sadness and utter grief that the IFP announces the untimely passing of Hon Khethamabala Petros Sithole MP (68) who was assassinated in Katlehong earlier this evening by unknown assailants.
It added: “The IFP is poorer today with Jobe’s passing, and South Africa has lost a good man who served his country par excellence.”
