One MP reportedly told Mbalula that the DA’s actions were damaging the ANC and the coalition, urging swift action to sever ties with the party.
“There is no willingness from the DA to work with us. Their behavior shows they have no respect for our government,” a source was quoted as saying..
MPs are now pressing for the ANC to break away from the DA and secure a majority by aligning with smaller parties.
The internal friction extended beyond the DA issue, with ANC leaders reportedly expressing dissatisfaction over Mbalula’s tardiness at the meeting.
Deputy President Paul Mashatile and ANC chair Gwede Mantashe reportedly berated Mbalula for arriving late, with Mantashe leaving before Mbalula even spoke, City Press reported.
The late arrival sparked further frustrations, highlighting divisions within the party leadership.
