Cape Town – The ANC has warned that any motion of no confidence against President Cyril Ramaphosa by the DA will be seen as the party walking out of the Government of National Unity (GNU).
This follows the DA’s withdrawal from the upcoming National Dialogue, after Ramaphosa dismissed DA Deputy Minister Andrew Whitfield over an unauthorised US visit.
The DA had issued an ultimatum demanding that Ramaphosa fire allegedly corrupt ANC ministers, and may be considering a no-confidence motion.
But ANC spokesperson Mahlengi Bhengu-Motsiri says such a move would not succeed and would signal the DA’s exit from the GNU.
