Cape Town – The National Assembly has approved a second extension for the Ad Hoc Committee, now giving it until 20 February 2026 to complete its work.
The committee, established in September to investigate national security concerns, was set up after KwaZulu-Natal top cop Lieutenant-General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi raised allegations of criminal infiltration, corruption, and political interference in the justice system.

Its original deadline was October, extended first to November, and now further extended due to workload.
The extension was approved without objection in the House.
