Limpopo – Police in Limpopo have launched a manhunt following the murder of a 42-year-old Zimbabwean woman in the Malamulele policing area.
In a statement posted on social media on Wednesday, the South African Police Service (SAPS) said the incident occurred at Xitlhelani Village early on Tuesday morning.
“#SAPS Malamulele has launched a manhunt following the murder of a 42yr-old Zimbabwean female at Xitlhelani Village under the Malamulele policing area,” police said.
“The incident occurred on Tuesday, 20/01, at approximately 06:00.”
According to preliminary investigations, the victim was employed as a pre-school teacher at a local private school. SAPS said “she was employed as a pre-school teacher at a local private school in Malamulele area.”

Police added that the woman and her husband had only recently moved into the area. “The deceased and her husband had reportedly rented the room a few days prior to the incident,” the statement read.
Authorities have raised concern over the whereabouts of the victim’s husband, who has not yet been located. “The deceased’s husband is currently nowhere to be found,” SAPS said.
Police have identified Ngonidzashe Sibanda, a Zimbabwean national, as a person of interest in the case.
“Police are calling upon Ngonidzashe Sibanda, a Zimbabwean national, as depicted in the photo, to present himself at the nearest police station, as Police believe he can assist in the investigation,” the statement said.

Investigations into the murder are continuing.
