Tshwane — Gauteng police have launched a full-scale investigation into the deaths of four women whose bodies were discovered in separate locations across Tshwane between June and July 2025.
According to police spokesperson Brigadier Brenda Muridili, authorities are probing the possibility that the murders are linked.
Three of the victims’ burned bodies were found between the Watloo and Denneboom train stations, within the Silverton policing precinct. The fourth was discovered in a shallow grave in Eersterust on Wednesday, 31 July.

A specialised task team has been established to investigate the killings. It comprises seasoned detectives, crime intelligence officers, forensic experts, and crime scene specialists.
“The task team is working around the clock to determine whether there is a connection between the cases and to trace those responsible,” said Brigadier Muridili in a media statement released on Friday.
Police are appealing to the public for assistance. Anyone with information that could aid the investigation or lead to the arrest of the suspect or suspects is urged to contact their nearest police station or call Crime Stop at 08600 10111. Tip-offs can also be submitted anonymously via the MySAPS app, available on all smartphones.
The motive behind the killings remains unclear, and the identities of the victims have not yet been released.
