Thohoyandou – Police in Limpopo have launched a murder investigation after the body of an unidentified man was discovered near the Sibasa taxi rank on Sunday, 28 December 2025.
According to the South African Police Service (SAPS), officers were called to the scene where they found the body of an unknown African male believed to be about 40 years old, with multiple stab wounds.
“The SAPS in Thohoyandou has launched investigations after police were summoned to a murder incident at Sibasa, next to the taxi rank,” police said.
The victim’s identity has not yet been established. Police described him as dark in complexion and said he was wearing a red top, blue jeans and black boots at the time his body was found.

“The body of an unknown African male, estimated to be about 40 years old, was found with stab wounds,” SAPS confirmed, adding that “the identity of the deceased is unknown.”
Police have appealed to members of the public to assist with information that could help identify the victim or lead to the arrest of those responsible.
“Anyone with information is urged to contact Sergeant Nekhavhambe Rembuluwani on 071 511 1213, Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or use the MySAPSApp,” the police said.
Investigations are continuing.
