East London – Two men have been arrested after a video showing the assault of a security guard in East London went viral on social media.
The incident occurred at eBuhlanti Marina Glen near Eastern Beach, where the guard was allegedly attacked after asking a man to move his vehicle.
Footage shows the guard being kicked and chased away by the suspects.
Police confirmed that a case of common assault was opened, with the suspects arrested and later released on warning.
They are expected to appear in the East London Magistrates Court on 6 January.
Authorities said investigations are ongoing and further arrests may follow.

“The suspects face charges of common assault and are expected to appear in court soon,” confirmed Eastern Cape police spokesperson Brigadier Nobuntu Gantana.
“The investigation remains active, with further arrests likely. No further information can be shared on this matter.”
The Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality condemned the violence, warning that lawlessness would not be tolerated and urging the public to act responsibly.
The EFF also voiced support for the guard, describing the attack as an example of the violence and disrespect often faced by working-class security workers.
