Cape Town – Sentencing proceedings are set to begin on Tuesday in the Western Cape High Court, sitting in Saldanha Bay, for Kelly Smith, Jacquen Appollis, and Steveno van Rhyn.
The trio has been convicted of kidnapping and trafficking six-year-old Joshlin Smith from her home in February last year.
During Tuesday’s session, the State is expected to present witnesses for aggravation of sentence, while the defence has not confirmed if it will present mitigating evidence.
Judge Nathan Erasmus is set to deliver the sentences on Thursday.
