Cape Town – A devastating accident occurred just after midnight on the R34 near Vryheid, KwaZulu-Natal, involving a passenger bus and a truck.
At least 12 people have died—10 at the scene and 2 more in hospital—and 32 others were injured, reports say.

The drivers of both vehicles are among the injured, while six bus passengers escaped unharmed.
The victims are believed to have been returning from a Youth Day political rally.
Early reports indicate that the truck struck the bus’s front-left corner before tearing through its side, The Citizen reported.
Authorities, including the KZN Department of Transport, Road Traffic Management Corporation, and SAPS, have launched a full investigation into the cause of the crash.
