Centurion — A coordinated multi-agency search operation following recent flooding in Centurion has ended in tragedy, after two individuals reported missing since Sunday were found dead inside their vehicle.
Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Centurion confirmed that it assisted with the search operation on Tuesday, which involved several law enforcement, emergency and community organisations.
“After an extensive joint operation, the vehicle in which the two occupants had been travelling was located and successfully recovered,” CERT said in a statement.
“Tragically, both missing persons were found deceased inside the vehicle.”
The two had been reported missing following heavy flooding in the area over the weekend, prompting concerns that they may have been swept away while travelling.
