Cape Town – Three men were killed and four others injured in a suspected gang-related shooting in Kalksteenfontein, Bishop Lavis, on Thursday evening, the South African Police Service (SAPS) reported.
According to SAPS Western Cape, the victims were part of a group of seven men sitting outside a residence when a vehicle approached at around 20:10.
“Three armed men alighted and started shooting randomly at the group. The gunmen later fled in the vehicle,” police said.
The deceased, aged 40, 64, and 66, died on the scene, while the four injured were taken to a medical facility for treatment.

Police have opened three counts of murder and four counts of attempted murder.
“No arrests have been effected yet, but investigations into the incident continue,” SAPS stated.
The Anti-Gang Unit is leading the investigation, and law enforcement presence in the area has been increased. SAPS added that the attack is believed to be gang-related.
Authorities urged residents to remain vigilant and report any information that could assist with the investigation.
