Tongaat, KZN – A highly venomous Black Mamba was safely removed from a residence in Magwaveni, Tongaat, on Monday evening, authorities said.
At approximately 19:06, Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received a call reporting the presence of the snake inside a bedroom.
Reaction Officer Jordan Tarr was dispatched to the property.

Upon arrival, the homeowner informed Tarr that the snake had been spotted under a dressing table inside the room. A careful search ensued, during which the reptile, measuring approximately 2.5 metres in length, was located.
“The Black Mamba was successfully and safely removed from the residence without injury,” a RUSA spokesperson said.
Authorities reminded residents in snake-prone areas to remain vigilant and to contact professional services immediately if dangerous reptiles are sighted.
