Police say the victim had just returned from Durban earlier that evening after accompanying school learners on a trip.
The suspect allegedly fled the scene in a vehicle, driving at high speed before colliding with a bus in the Watervaal policing area. He then abandoned the car and escaped in another vehicle to Mabambe village, where he was arrested.
The man is expected to appear before the Malamulele Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 11 August 2025, facing a murder charge.
Limpopo Provincial Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe condemned the killing, urging couples to seek professional help to resolve conflicts instead of resorting to violence.
