Durban – A man in his forties was seriously wounded after a shooting incident on Friday afternoon on Chatsworth Main Road in the Bayview area of Chatsworth, KwaZulu-Natal.
Emergency services, including ALS Paramedics and Amawelele Emergency Services, responded to the scene at around 12:00, where they found security personnel and members of the South African Police Service already in attendance.
Paramedics located the victim with multiple gunshot wounds and immediately initiated Advanced Life Support treatment in an effort to stabilise him.

Due to the severity of his injuries, a decision was made to call in the Netcare911 Aeromedical Helicopter to airlift the man to a level 1 trauma hospital for urgent medical care.
At this stage, the circumstances leading up to the shooting remain unknown. Police have opened an investigation into the incident and are continuing to gather information at the scene.
