Metro Police officers made the discovery while attending to reports that liquor was being sold unlawfully from the premises.
“The officers attended to a complaint of liquor being sold at the premises in Zebra Street, Durbanville, when the discovery was made,” SAPS confirmed.
Authorities believe the find could assist in dismantling broader illegal operations linked to the illicit alcohol trade in the area.
“The discovery of this plant will be used as a stepping stone to uncover more illegal manufacturing plants in this illicit industry,” police said.
No arrests have been confirmed at this stage, and investigations are ongoing.
