Johannesburg – Thousands of churchgoers are expected at FNB Stadium on Sunday, 30 November 2025, for National Prayer Day, prompting Gauteng Traffic Police (GTP) to warn of heavy congestion on major routes into Johannesburg.
“Heavy traffic is expected on major routes from Saturday until Sunday evening as congregants from different Faith-based Organisations will be travelling in large numbers,” the GTP stated.
Key highways likely to be affected include the N1 (Polokwane and Bloemfontein to Johannesburg), N3 (Durban–Johannesburg), N4 (Emalahleni–Johannesburg), and N12 (Potchefstroom–Johannesburg), with local roads around FNB Stadium also expected to be busy.
