Polokwane – Police in Limpopo have launched a search for four suspects following a theft incident at a filling station in Haenertsburg earlier this month.
According to police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, the incident occurred on Friday, 13 March 2026 at around 18:00.
“It is alleged that four suspects, comprising three Indian males and one Indian female, arrived at a local filling station driving a grey Volkswagen Polo,” said Ledwaba.
Police say the group entered the premises under false pretences before the theft took place.
“The suspects reportedly entered the office under the pretext of purchasing oil. While inside, the female suspect allegedly stole a cellphone belonging to an employee,” he said.
The suspects then fled the scene and have not yet been traced.
“The suspects subsequently fled the scene in the same vehicle, and their whereabouts remain unknown at this stage,” Ledwaba added.
Authorities believe the vehicle used in the incident may have been fitted with false number plates and are urging members of the public to assist in identifying those involved.
“Police are urging anyone who may have information regarding the identity or whereabouts of the suspects or who may recognize the vehicle and individuals appearing in the pictures to come forward and assist with the investigation,” said Ledwaba.
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Detective Warrant Officer Glenda Mathebula on 082 414 3031. Alternatively, tip-offs can be shared at the nearest police station, via the Crime Stop number 08600 10111, or through the MySAPS App.
Police investigations are ongoing.
