Cape Town – A major collision on the M4 between Umdloti and Westbrook in KwaZulu-Natal on Tuesday morning claimed two lives and left 19 others injured.
According to ArriveAlive, the accident occurred on 7 October, in the morning.
Multiple emergency services attended the scene, including KZNVIP Paramedics, who found multiple patients with both minor and severe injuries.

“A rapid triage process was initiated and all injured patients were stabilised before being transported to nearby medical facilities for further treatment.
“The exact circumstances leading up to the collision cannot be confirmed at this stage,” reported ArriveAlive.
The Citizen reported that IPSS Medical Rescue spokesperson, Samantha Meyrick, confirmed that emergency teams from multiple services responded to the scene shortly after the crash was reported, where two fatalities were confirmed.
“IPSS Medical Rescue and various other services are currently on the scene of a mass casualty accident on the M4 between Umdloti and Westbrook,” said Meyrick.
” Two people had died as a result of the accident, while 19 others sustained varying degrees of injuries,” added Meyrick.
Traffic on the M4 was heavily affected, as parts of the roadway remained obstructed while emergency operations were underway.
