Cape Town – A 52-year-old member of People Against Gangsterism and Drugs (Pagad), Faizel Felix, has been arrested in Wynberg after evading justice for eight years.
Felix briefly appeared in court on Monday, 14 July 2025, following his arrest earlier in the day by the Hawks’ Crimes Against the State (CATS) team in the Western Cape.
His arrest was made on the strength of a warrant issued in 2016 after he failed to appear in court.
According to the Department of Justice, Crime Prevention and Security, Felix was originally arrested on 19 August 2015 by the City of Cape Town’s Special Investigating Group for illegal possession of a firearm.
The case was later handed over to the Hawks for further investigation.
