Harrismith – Multiple trucks obstructed the N3 Toll Route in both directions near the Harrismith North Interchange early on Friday morning, triggering significant traffic disruptions and delays along one of South Africa’s busiest highways.
The incident, reported at 07:45, has affected traffic flow at the interchange, identified as I/C 34 (N3-7X 36.0 N), with vehicles left stationary along sections of the route.

All Road Incident Management System (RIMS) partners are currently on scene, working alongside the South African Police Service (SAPS) Public Order Policing (POP) unit to manage the situation.
N3 Toll Concession (N3TC) has urged motorists to avoid the area until further notice.
“In light of the extensive disruption to traffic flow, and the stationary traffic along this section of the highway, N3TC recommends that road users delay travelling to the area until further notice,” said Thania Dhoogra, Chief Operating Officer of N3TC.

Authorities have not yet indicated the cause of the obstruction or how long it may take to clear the route.
