Cape Town – Police are investigating the murder of a 45-year-old man who was shot multiple times in the parking area of Milpark Hospital in Johannesburg on Wednesday night.
The victim, who has not yet been identified, had reportedly visited a friend at the hospital before the attack.
According to The Citizen Police spokesperson Captain Tintswalo Sibeko confirmed a case of murder has been opened, but no arrests have been made and the motive remains unclear.
“I can confirm that the South African Police Service (Saps) has opened a case of murder after a 45-year-old man was fatally shot multiple times at the parking area of Milpark Hospital,” the report quoted Sibeko saying.
“The incident occurred after the victim allegedly visited a friend at the hospital. The police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting, and the motive is still unknown.’
Anti-crime activist and journalist Yusuf Abramjee suggested it may have been a targeted hit, noting on X that the victim was shot several times.
