Katlehong, Gauteng – A 33-year-old man has been arrested in Katlehong on charges of possession and possible dealing in illicit substances after a tip-off from a concerned community member.
The arrest was carried out on Friday by officers from the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Drug Enforcement Unit.
According to authorities, officers received information alleging that the suspect was selling drugs to underage children in the area.
Acting on the intelligence, officers traced and intercepted the suspect at a residence on Mofakeng Street in the Goba Section.

A search of the suspect led to the discovery of 19 ziplock bags containing CAT, with an estimated street value of R2,000. Officers also found R300 in cash, believed to be proceeds from drug sales.
The suspect was immediately arrested and transported to the South African Police Service station in Katlehong, where he remains in custody.
He is expected to appear in the local Magistrate’s Court soon, facing charges related to the possession and possible dealing of illicit substances.
Police have commended the community member for providing information that led to the arrest and reiterated the importance of public cooperation in the fight against crime.
