Cape Town – Limpopo police are investigating a tragic shooting in which a husband allegedly killed a man he suspected of having an affair with his wife before turning the gun on himself.
Provincial Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe condemned the distressing domestic-related incident, which occurred in Lulekani New Stands on 4 October 2025, at around 5am.
According to police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, officers responded to reports of a shooting and, upon arrival at the scene, found a man lying unresponsive with gunshot wounds.

“Paramedics were summoned and certified the victim dead at the scene.
“Further Investigation indicated that a male individual shot at the victim he accused of having a romantic connections with the wife.
“Following the shooting incident, the suspect went to his parental home in Kurhula, where he allegedly shot himself in the head and died instantly,” said Ledwaba.
Cartridges from the firearm believed to have been used in the incident were recovered at the scene.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the husband and his wife had been experiencing domestic problems.
The identity of the deceased will be withheld pending further investigation. Police have opened cases of murder and an inquest, and the investigation is ongoing.
