Cape Town – The search for 71-year-old British tourist Elain McSorley in eMkhuze, KwaZulu-Natal, has been called off after a week-long operation yielded no results.
According to reports, McSorley went missing on 27 September during a self-guided hike from the Ghost Mountain Inn and Safari.
When she failed to return, her partner alerted the hotel and authorities.

An extensive six-day search was conducted by uMkhuze SAPS, IPSS Search & Rescue, K9 units from Vryheid and Empangeni, drones, helicopters, fixed-wing aircraft, and volunteers from security companies, local communities, the CPF, and nearby game reserves.
Despite these efforts, no trace of McSorley was found.

SAPS said the investigation will continue, with hopes of narrowing down the search area.
Ghost Mountain Inn and Mkhuze Superspar were thanked for supporting the search teams.
