Brindhaven, KwaZulu-Natal – Residents of Dianthus Road in Brindhaven were left shaken on Saturday evening after gunshots were reportedly fired from a white Nissan Almera, authorities confirmed.
According to the Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA), their headquarters received multiple emergency calls at 21:46 reporting the incident. Officers dispatched to the scene spoke with local residents, who said four occupants of the vehicle opened fire randomly before fleeing the area.
RUSA further reported that the same vehicle had been linked to an attempted hijacking earlier in the evening in Sanaa Township, KwaZulu-Natal.
During their investigation, officers recovered a blank round and a spring, believed to have come from a broken firearm, near the location where the vehicle had been parked.
Authorities confirmed that Reaction Officers across all operational areas are actively searching for the vehicle and its occupants. No injuries were reported at the time of publication.
Residents in the area are urged to remain vigilant and report any information that may assist in locating the suspects.
