Cape Town – Music producer and owner of Views Night Club in Durban, DJ Bongz, has publicly addressed recent allegations suggesting that his business failed to pay staff their salaries over several weeks.
According to a statement shared on his Instagram account, Bongz acknowledged that there were temporary delays in staff payments, but firmly rejected claims that he or Views Night Club intentionally withheld salaries.
As stated by club management, the venue faced serious internal challenges after uncovering repeated incidents of stock and cash theft involving members of the management team.
These losses, the statement said, placed “extreme financial strain” on the business, affecting its ability to meet payroll on time. Bongz and the owners reportedly used their own personal funds to ensure that employees continued to receive payments where possible during this period.

In his video message, Bongz also spoke to the stress of being in the public eye during difficult times.
“If you are born a star, you don’t get rest… people will trouble you… even when you do nothing wrong,” he said in isiZulu, reflecting on how rumours and criticism can spread quickly once a story gains traction online.
He emphasised that some of the circulating narratives about the club’s finances and operational status were “incorrect” and “misleading.”
The club’s official communication went on to confirm that criminal cases have been opened against those allegedly involved in the misconduct and that steps had been taken to strengthen internal controls.
This includes hiring new staff and restructuring parts of the business to safeguard its future. Management also stressed that Views Night Club remains fully operational, dismissing claims that it was on the verge of closure.
