Durban– A father and his two young daughters were found dead at their home in Shastri Circle, Tongaat, in KwaZulu-Natal on Tuesday afternoon.
According to Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA), the discovery was made after the organisation received a call for assistance at approximately 13:49.
“Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received a call for assistance at approximately 13:49. Reaction Officers were immediately dispatched to the property,” the organisation said in a statement.
Upon arrival, officers found members of the South African Police Service (SAPS) and other private emergency services already at the scene.
RUSA said it was established that the body of an adult male was found hanging inside the residence.
“During further assessment of the property, two (2) female children aged four (4) and seven (7) were found deceased in a bedroom,” the statement read.
Authorities have not released further details at this stage. Police have confirmed that the circumstances leading up to the children’s deaths are under investigation.
“Circumstances leading up to the minors deaths are subject to investigation (Sensitive details withheld),” RUSA said.
Police investigations are ongoing.
