Cape Town – The family of Constable Cebekhulu Linda, one of three police officers whose bodies were recovered from the Hennops River in Centurion, is reportedly seeking answers about the circumstances leading to the incident.
According to SABC News, while they believe it was an accident, they are questioning the events that led to it, especially after initial reports suggested hijacking or kidnapping.
Family spokesperson Sipho Linda expressed concern over inconsistencies and said that Cebekhulu was a cautious person, raising doubts about why he was driving on the far-left side of the road.
“My son… was very careful. I mean, he wouldn’t drive from Bloemfontein if he was negligent. And why was he driving on the far left?,” the report quoted him as saying.

The three Free State police constables — Boipelo Senoge, Linda, and Keamogetswe Buys — will be honoured with official police funerals.
Each constable will have a separate funeral service: Senoge on Thursday, Linda on Friday, and Buys on Saturday next week, with a joint memorial service scheduled for Tuesday.
“We agreed with the families to say that the funerals will be held over three days. The funeral of Constable Senoge will be on Thursday; the funeral of Constable Linda will be on Friday. The funeral of Constable Buys will be on Saturday because as the organisation, we are going to give them official police funerals,” the report quoted Free State Premier, Maqueen Joyce Letsoha-Mathae as saying.
