The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, condemned the incident and warned against mob justice, saying “taking the law into one’s own hands is a serious criminal offence and undermines the rule of law.”
She urged community members to report suspected criminal activities to the police and allow law enforcement to handle such matters through lawful processes.
According to SAPS, anyone with information that may assist the investigation is urged to contact the investigating officer, Constable Madibeng Mahlo, on 082 319 9742, their nearest police station, Crime Stop on 08600 10111, or share information via the MySAPS App.
