Kimberley – A 31-year-old Bolt driver who was reported missing earlier this week has been found and arrested along with two other individuals for contravening South Africa’s immigration laws, police confirmed on Friday.
According to Northern Cape police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Sergio Kock, Simbarashe Chimbowa, who was last seen in Kagisho, Kimberley, at around 19:00 on Sunday, 21 July 2025, was located later that night outside Douglas.
Chimbowa was arrested at approximately 23:00 by members of the Douglas SAPS Visible Policing Unit. He was found inside a blue Ford Focus alongside Elias Mzonjani (47) and Believe Chikate (25), about 5km outside the town on the Kimberley Road.

The trio appeared briefly in the Douglas Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 25 July 2025.
Their case was remanded to 29 July 2025 for further investigation.
The vehicle they were travelling in has since been seized by police.
“The suspects were arrested for contravening the Immigration Act,” said Kock, adding that the investigation remains ongoing.
