Johannesburg – Six people were killed and three others injured in a mass drive-by shooting in Reiger Park, Boksburg, on Saturday, 1 November 2025.
According to Gauteng police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi, two vehicles — a silver Polo and a black Polo — drove into the area and opened fire randomly.
“It is reported that in the afternoon of Saturday, 01 November 2025 two vehicles, a silver Polo and a black Polo came to this area and started shooting randomly.
“The circumstances of the shooting are not clear at this stage, but investigations are underway and a manhunt has been launched for the suspects,” Nevhuhulwi said.
Acting Gauteng Police Commissioner Major General Fred Kekana has mobilised resources to investigate the incident and urged the public to assist law enforcement by reporting any information via the Crime Stop Line or MySAPS app.
The shooting follows a similar incident last week in the Eastern Cape, where a taxi boss and his friend were killed in a suspected hit in Ngqamakhwe.
Police have also launched a manhunt in that case.
