Cape Town – As temperatures in Gauteng are expected to drop significantly from Friday, Johannesburg Emergency Services is on high alert to handle potential incidents during the cold snap.
Forecasts predict Johannesburg will reach lows of 10°C and highs of 18°C, while Pretoria may see temperatures between 11°C and 20°C.
“Breaking: Very early forecast suggests cold snap in Gauteng from Friday!,” Gauteng Weather warned residents.

Residents are urged to use heating devices safely and avoid leaving them unattended, especially in informal settlements where braziers are used.
Authorities emphasise the importance of ventilation to prevent toxic fume inhalation and will monitor all seven regions of Johannesburg throughout the cold front.
