Bloemfontein – Two people died and eight others were injured in a vehicle accident on the N1 highway at the Ferreira Bridge on [insert date], authorities confirmed.
According to emergency responders from VR MED, the incident involved a bakkie transporting multiple passengers. Several individuals were reportedly ejected from the bridge onto the N1 during the crash.
“Upon our arrival, we assessed the scene and found multiple casualties,” a VR MED spokesperson said.
“Unfortunately, two individuals had succumbed to their injuries, while eight others sustained injuries ranging from minor to serious. All were transported to nearby hospitals for further treatment.”

Multiple emergency agencies responded to the scene, including VR MED, Life EMS, Fire Ops, Netcare, Fire and Rescue, Afriforum, Mata Sec, and Priority Care.
No further details regarding the cause of the accident or the identities of the victims have been released at this time.
Authorities have urged motorists to exercise caution on the N1 while investigations continue.
