Cape Town – The bail hearing for Tiffany Meek, a 31-year-old woman accused of murdering her 11-year-old son Jayden-Lee Meek, is set to continue on Friday at the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court.
Proceedings were delayed on Thursday due to the absence of Meek’s attorney, Noven Naidoo, according to IOL.
“The bail proceedings were expected to enter their fifth day on Thursday, but proceedings were halted after Meek’s attorney, Noven Naidoo, was unavailable to attend court,” the report said.
Jayden was reported missing on May 13, 2025, and his body was discovered a few hours later near their Fleurhof home.
Tiffany faces several charges, including murder, crimen injuria, and attempting to obstruct justice.

The court is expected to resume cross-examination of a police sergeant, who has been testifying this week.
On Wednesday, Naidoo questioned the officer about conflicting statements regarding what Jayden was wearing when he disappeared. Naidoo said Meek would testify that she dressed Jayden that morning in grey pants, a white shirt, a tie, and black takkies.
The officer responded that his knowledge of the clothing came from witness accounts.
Meanwhile, Sergeant Nceba Diko, the investigating officer, has strongly opposed bail, citing Tiffany as a flight risk and warning she could tamper with evidence or influence witnesses.
He also rejected her claims that she was being framed, stating he had no personal connection to her and that the investigation was thorough and evidence-based.
Meek had claimed she needed bail to resume employment and support her family, but Diko revealed her employer had placed her on leave until at least September.
An affidavit from her biological father offered her accommodation in KwaZulu-Natal, but Diko expressed concern about monitoring her outside Gauteng.
He also highlighted public anger over the case, suggesting her release could provoke unrest. The bail hearing is set to continue on Wednesday.
