Baitimore, Limpopo – A 77-year-old man was killed in a violent farm attack near Baitimore in the Capricorn District on Saturday, police confirmed.
According to the South African Police Service (SAPS), the victim had left his farmhouse around 16:00 to check on his cattle when “two male suspects sneaked in and entered the farm house, and tied a female victim (wife) inside the house.”
“The police as well as neighbouring farmers, upon reaching the scene, found that the 77-year-old was still tied, and laying unconscious. The EMS declared him dead on their arrival at the scene.”
The identity of the victim has not been released, as the investigation is ongoing.
Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, has called on officers to use all available resources to track down the perpetrators.
Items reported stolen include a firearm, cellphones, and an undisclosed amount of money.

Police are appealing to the public for information. Anyone with details about the suspects’ whereabouts is urged to contact Sergeant Simon Ditle at 082 414 1882, the Crime Stop number 08600 10111, or use the MySAPS App.
“Investigating continues,” the police confirmed.
