Cape Town – Police in Seshego, under the Capricorn District, have opened an investigation following the discovery of human remains in a shallow grave in Chebeng Village, Limpopo.
According to the South African Police Service (SAPS), Colonel Malesela Ledwaba confirmed that the remains were found on Thursday, 31 October 2025, at around 8am.

The incident was reported to the police by members of the local community on Saturday, 1 November 2025, at approximately 3pm.
“According to reports, the police received information about human remains found in the area and immediately proceeded to the scene.
“Upon arrival, they were shown what appeared to be a human skull protruding from the ground.
“Further investigation led to the discovery of a shallow grave, where the rest of the skeletal remains were found inside a plastic sack. The body was already beyond recognition,” said Ledwaba.
The remains will undergo a forensic analysis to determine the identity of the deceased and the cause of death.
