Cape Town – Former Real Housewives of Durban star Nonku Williams has taken to Instagram to clarify her abrupt fallout with close friend Jojo Robinson.
The pair, famously known together as “Joku”, saw their friendship fracture on screen during Season 5, fuelled by comments that stirred public concern.
In her heartfelt statement dated 22 July 2025, Nonku apologised for describing their bond as “surface level”, explaining she never intended to undermine their connection.
“I want to apologise for using the words ‘surface level’ when referring to my friendship with Jojo. In no way was I speaking about the love or bond we share; that was never my intention,” she wrote.

Explaining the root of the conflict, Nonku shared how her evolving spirituality affected the dynamic.
“As I’ve drawn closer to God… I no longer want every moment captured or posted online. Some things deserve to remain sacred,” she said, adding that while she has other friends to call in the middle of the night for prayer, this was never about mistrust. “Not because I don’t trust Jojo but because each friendship has its own unique role and dynamic.”
Nonku also revealed that she and Jojo have spoken since the public fallout and are planning to meet face-to-face soon. “I’ve reached out to her, and we’re planning to meet soon. I want her and everyone to know our friendship is important to me. I’m committed to nurturing it,” she affirmed
As fans look on, hopeful that the duo might reconcile, Nonku summed it up best: “Every friendship has its seasons, lessons and growing pains, and I truly hope we can move forward from this with grace.”
This apology comes after a week sine Jojo took it online, to mourn her friendship with Nonku and sharing how everything is affecting her.
