Cape Town – Award-winning singer Makhadzi has been discharged from hospital and is continuing her recovery at home following a car accident on New Year’s Eve.
The star was involved in a crash while travelling from Limpopo to Johannesburg on December 31, which led to her being admitted for medical treatment .
The Limpopo-born musician took to social media on January 5 to reassure fans about her condition and to thank them for the overwhelming support she has received.
“I am slowly recovering well and trusting the process,” Makhadzi shared, adding that she is grateful to still have her voice after the accident .
She revealed that doctors have advised her to step away from performing for an extended period to allow her body to heal properly.
“From the treatment I have been receiving from my doctor, she advised that due to my injuries I will have to remain in home care for 10 weeks without performing,” she said, confirming that she will be off stage for the next few weeks .

Makhadzi’s team had earlier confirmed that she was in a stable condition following the crash, which sparked concern among fans and fellow artists across the country .
Despite the setback, Makhadzi remains hopeful and determined to continue creating music during her time off. “I won’t be performing but I will be in studio doing what He saved me for,” she said, adding, “I won’t forget to thank God for giving me a second chance to breathe” .
