According to Times Live, the buyer also separately purchased a neighbouring property, 7A Saxonwold Drive, for R6.5 million. Initially valued at R64 million, the properties failed to meet reserve prices at auction, prompting a private sale.
The Gupta family, who fled South Africa in 2018, allegedly used the lavish compound to entertain politicians and influence state contracts.
The government is still seeking their extradition.
