Cape Town – The man accused of murdering popular DJ and security company owner Warrick “DJ Warras” Stock is expected to apply for bail when he returns to court next week, as the case continues to draw widespread public attention.
The accused appeared briefly in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, where the matter was postponed to allow for outstanding procedural processes before a formal bail application can be heard.
The State has already indicated that it will oppose bail, citing the seriousness of the charges.
DJ Warras was shot and killed in December 2025 outside a building in Johannesburg’s CBD, where his security company was contracted.
Police previously described the killing as targeted, and investigations led to the arrest of the accused days later.

Family members were present in court and described the emotional weight of the proceedings.
DJ Warras’ sister, Nicole Stock, said seeing the accused in person was overwhelming.
“My heart’s racing. It’s like a shock,” she said outside court. “I never expected it to be so short and quick, but I understand it must be the process.”
The National Prosecuting Authority confirmed that the accused faces a charge of premeditated murder, while prosecutors continue to finalise documentation ahead of the bail hearing.
According to SABC News, the court also required verification of the accused’s residential address before bail proceedings could formally proceed.
DJ Warras’ sister, Nicole, expressed that his death has left a significant void in their family and the entertainment industry.
