Pretoria – President Cyril Ramaphosa has departed for Kananaskis, Canada, to attend the G7 Outreach Summit, which will take place from 15 to 17 June 2025. The summit is being held at the invitation of Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney.
According to a statement from the Presidency, Ramaphosa will join global leaders and outreach partners to discuss the future of energy security.
Key topics on the agenda include energy diversification, technological advancement, infrastructure development and investment strategies aimed at ensuring equitable access and affordability in the face of global change.

South Africa’s participation in the summit forms part of its ongoing diplomatic engagement with the G7 to promote sustainable development and energy resilience across Africa.
The summit is expected to gather heads of state, business leaders and international organisations to tackle pressing global challenges amid shifting geopolitical and environmental dynamics.
