Cape Town – Lynn Forbes — mother of late rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes — appeared emotional on Tuesday, 25 November, as she faced the brothers charged with killing her son in the Durban Magistrate’s Court.
The accused, brothers Siyabonga Ndimande and Malusi Ndimande, are among the men allegedly involved in the 2023 murders of AKA and his friend Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane.
When the suspects arrived in South Africa, Lynn Forbes penned an Instagram post expressing that justice for her, would be AKA coming back home. Take a look…
“If you were the one coming home today … that would be justice for me. Everything else is just process. This South African air is suffocating today … I cannot breathe 💔,” she wrote.

Siyabonga and Malusi were extradited from Eswatini earlier this month and brought before the court under heavy security. As they were led into the courtroom, Forbes “watched on, seeing the siblings linked to her son’s murder for the first time,” according to social-media observers.

Speaking outside the courtroom, Forbes addressed the prosecution team: “I really appreciate [it]. I can only imagine all the hours that must go into all of this and I don’t envy any of you, but thank you, very much appreciated. Thank you.” She added, “I’m not here for closure, this is part of my healing.”
The legal proceedings were adjourned until 9 January 2026, when further defence requests regarding the extradition documentation will be addressed. Meanwhile, the full murder trial — involving several more accused — is scheduled to begin in mid-2026.
