Cape Town – Fitness influencer Rachel Kolisi was hospitalised after a fall during her first-ever triathlon over the weekend — but she has confirmed she escaped with no broken bones.
Rachel competed in the Woolworths X Tri at Paul Clüver Estate Wines in Cape Town, which involved swimming, cycling and running through vineyards and forest paths.
In an Instagram update shared on Monday, she described the incident as a “silly fall.” She wrote,
“I did my very first triathlon today!!I have a whole new respect for these athletes 🥵And honestly… I think I’ve caught the bug. If you’ve been thinking about doing one, this is your sign to just sign up!“I did end up in hospital after a very silly fall – thank God no broken bones.”

She also thanked the organisers, brands, and supporters who helped make her first triathlon possible, and said she looked forward to more such adventures despite the mishap.
One follower wrote: “Well done, Rach! You were a machine! Pity about that fall — let’s get back on the bike and hit our next one!”
Rachel’s triathlon participation comes as part of a broader focus on health, fitness, and personal empowerment. As reported by IOL, she has been preparing to launch her “Falling Forward” initiative in 2026, which she describes as a platform to encourage personal growth, resilience, and empowerment through physical and mental challenges.
