Cape Town – Tributes poured in on Tuesday following the death of veteran broadcaster Darren Scott, who passed away that morning after a prolonged battle with cancer.
He was aged 61.
Widely respected in the radio industry, Scott worked at several major stations including Radio Bop, 5FM, East Coast Radio, Jacaranda FM, and HOT 102.7FM.
Scott had been in the United States with his children but returned to South Africa to work and fund his treatment, The Citizen reported.
He celebrated 40 years in radio last year and was inducted into the Radio Awards Hall of Fame.
According to Jacaranda FM, he is survived by his sons, Mark and Matthew.
